Ralph Lauren Fall 2025
The Ralph Lauren Fall Ready-To-Wear 2025 hosted in New York saw many famous guests including Anna Hathaway, Naomi Watts and Michelle WIllaims.

With looks featuring jewelled brooches, stunning evening coats and dramatic detailing with utterly romantic frills, we at DTW get a very romantic traditional feel from looking at these stunning pieces.

Prada buys Versace
Originally from Italy, Versace is about to make their way back.
​
Capri, successful company that own many labels including Jimmy Choo and Micheal Kors, has sold Versace to Prada for £1.07 Billion.
​
Prada has stated that they will not be merging with the brand but, instead, will be "continuing the Versace legacy".
​

Being 20 in the 1960s
What was your experience when the mini skirt and tights were first created?
"Until the miniskirt, stockings were held up with suspender belts or pantie girdles. Our mothers were still wearing corsets with suspenders or girdles. The suspenders showed if you sat down, so tights were introduced. They were awful at first, baggy and wrinkly. I had to wear pants over them to stop them from falling down When girls in the office sat at desks, people on the other side could see up their skirts so, some offices introduced a panel called a 'modesty board'. I got worried about having thin legs, as some people would talk about 'how ugly the backs of knees are'. "
Being 20 in the 1970s-80s
"Platforms! Also, bell-bottoms and big poofy hair"
Being 20 in the 2000s
"Crop tops and Velour tracksuits with low-rise waists stand out. You had those tiered gypsy skirts and the dresses over jeans. I will NOT be jumping back onto that trend anytime soon "
Working before women were in trousers?
"In my first job, women were not allowed to wear trousers. It was a factory and sometimes you had to walk on a metal grid staircase to get to the next floor. I can remember a boy getting in trouble for waiting under the stairs to look up through the grid to see up girls' skirts. It was nice when the maxi coat came in, to wear over your miniskirt and keep you warm"
Being 20 in the 1990s
"I think the 90s and 2000s were a decade that fashion forgot. I seem to remember cropped tight trousers appearing when I was in my twenties. Shell suits were chav fashion, I remember many 70s were copying with heavy metal, tie dye and biker jackets. Also skater skirts in the 90s"
Being 20 in the 2010s
"It was only 10 years ago so I still wear a lot of the same stuff but for sure skinny jeans and loads of denim on denim"

Hong Kong 2025
At the end of March, our founder headed off on a long trip to Hong Kong.
Here is what she has to say.
"Hong Kong was a completely different experience from being in London.
The fashion, especially the streetwear and shoes was something I've never seen or even thought of before.
I got the absolute pleasure of visiting designer Ricky Wong's studio as well as visiting exhibitions specialising ing Chinese Fashion.

I also went to the main fabric district which was absolutely incredible, the amount of fabric and accessories , the amount of variety you got was so lovely. I made sure to stock up on everything to bring back home for DareToWear."
