Christian Monzon - Model
When I visited LA, I had never modelled on a runway before. Christian was my mentor for that week which gave me the confidence to explore runway modelling as an option. Christian Monzon has modelled for various different brands including Versace , H&M and Dolce & Gabbana.

Why did you want to be a model?
When I was very young, people would always ask me if I was a model? I wanted to see if what everyone was saying about me and my potential was real. I didn’t want to look back and think what if?
What type of modelling are you interested in?
Campaigns. They are the most widely seen and they generate a lot of work. They also pay the best.
How do you keep up with the industry?
I’ve always had my own style and only wear clothes that make me feel confident. I trust myself and know that there will never be another me with my sense of putting ensembles together. It’s mere expression at the end of the day.
How do you prepare for a shoot or a show?
I always try to be camera ready so I don’t have to get ready. I believe there is nothing better than being yourself. Authenticity is what sets you apart and makes you stand out. I always lean on whatever is most real.
What has been your most memorable experience?
There are too many to mention. However, my most recent campaign which was for GAP sticks out. They hired my wife and children as well which was surreal. I am very proud of that shoot.
Luka Pinches - fashion student / desginer
I met Luka as we are both studying the same course at Jimmy Choo's Academy, I interviewed Luka as their work is so inventive and something I have never seen before.

What got you into desgining?
My grandma got me a sketchpad full of croquis for my 12th birthday and then the next year, I got a sewing machine from my dad.
Do you want to start your own brand? If so, what would it be?
I’d enjoy having my own brand but I’d be equally happy working for someone else. As long as I am designing or creating, I’m happy anywhere. If I did have my own brand, I’d like it to be a sustainable and genderless and available to the masses rather than a couture house.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
Inspiration comes from everywhere for me. I think there’s an awful lot of beauty in everyday life that often gets overlooked. I find music and the culture of underground music and concerts particularly inspiring.
Who's your biggest fashion influencer?
I’m not really sure I have one? If I had to choose a big designer, it would be Vivienne Westwood (of course), I love her whole attitude and punk style. Mostly I’m influenced by less well known designers like Eleanor Chapman and Pauline Dujancourt.
What's the process from concept to design like?
The creative process is never linear and it’s always unpredictable. Sometimes the concept will come first and go from there but other times, ideas will come half formed.
OSWALD HUNTER - model & actor
I had the privilege of meeting Oswald during the IPOP! 2024 talent convention in LA, where we got to model and act together.
Oswald has also recently published a novel which I will link here : Fate or Faith by Oswald Hunter

Why did you want to be a model?
There are several reasons why I wanted to pursue a career in modelling. First and foremost, I am a huge fan of men's suits. When I look at suits designed by brands like Armani and Hugo Boss, I feel inspired by their style and expressiveness. This inspiration led me to explore the diversity in fashion. From humble attire to bold statements for every imaginable occasion, fashion is as unique as the person wearing it. Regardless of the price tag on a piece, it's worn to bring one's personality to life. As models, we have the incredible opportunity to create characters based on the designer's vision. For me, it is a privilege to be a part of bringing these ideas to life. It's important to understand that modeling is not about bringing our own character to life but about giving life to the design and letting it speak its intent. It is work, and people need to understand that it can be a very demanding job. However, I love being part of this fast-paced and ever-changing world. Additionally, the bonus of meeting great designers and traveling the globe makes it all even more worthwhile. Modelling allows me to immerse myself in a dynamic industry while contributing to the art of fashion in a meaningful way.
What type of modelling are you interested in?
Answering this question is quite challenging because, while the different types of modeling might seem similar to an outsider, there are distinct differences in what is expected from the model in each category. I enjoy the diversity and strive to be a versatile model. For instance, I adore runway modeling. Although my physical appearance is considered average, making it harder to secure runway jobs, I wish I had more opportunities in this field. The excitement of the blinding lights, the cameras, and the live audience reminds me strongly of my theater work as an actor. That type of adrenaline rush is indescribable and must be experienced to be understood. Beyond runway modeling, the categories that most appeal to me are commercial modeling, editorial modeling, print modeling, and fashion modeling. While these categories may seem similar, each has its own specifics and nuances. As the saying goes, "the devil is in the details," and those details are what bring the challenge, which I love. Having control over my body and expressions, being fully aware of them, and using that ability to tell a story without words but through attire is incredibly exciting. Each type of modeling offers unique opportunities to bring designs to life and communicate a narrative, which is why I am passionate about exploring all these facets of the industry.
How do you keep up with the industry?
There are many ways to keep up with the fashion industry, and truthfully, I believe there isn't a right or wrong approach—as long as you're consistently investing time to stay updated. For me, platforms like Instagram are invaluable. I follow leading designers, aspiring designers, and keep up with reports on fashion shows and magazines to stay informed about the latest trends and collections. In addition, I regularly research fashion shows happening around the world to get a sense of what's being presented on the global stage. I also make a point of connecting with fellow models to build a strong network, as learning from peers and exchanging experiences can be incredibly valuable. To further develop and maintain the skills needed for modeling, I take masterclasses and study video material about modeling techniques. There's always more to learn—whether it's refining posture, perfecting poses, or understanding new trends. The industry is constantly evolving, and I believe continuous learning is key to staying ahead.

How do you prepare for a shoot or a show?
Although I can be very social, I like to have some "me time" before a shoot or show. Music plays a significant role in creating that moment for me. For a show, I make sure to find music that fits the theme. It's imperative to listen to the producer's directions during rehearsals. Then, before the show, I listen to the music and run the show in my imagination. This sense of preparedness helps me feel relaxed and be present in the moment when it's time to perform. For a shoot, I prefer to be more in the moment. Other than understanding what is expected, I avoid overthinking poses and such. In my opinion, being present and intuitively posing brings a more natural and genuine expression to the shoot. The right outfit and surroundings have a much more effective influence than trying to come up with a routine while at home or traveling. Additionally, I always carry a backpack with toiletries, a couple of snacks, water, and basic garments. There's nothing worse than smelling bad, having stuff stuck between your teeth, or being hungry. Being prepared in this way ensures I can focus on my work without any distractions. This approach allows me to balance preparedness with spontaneity, ensuring I bring my best to every shoot and sho
What has been your most memorable experience?
Two experiences come to mind as my most memorable. First, attending IPOP! in 2024 was incredible. The energy and excitement of being surrounded by so many talented and like-minded people made the event feel truly grand. Participating as a runway model in the show ReImagine by Kelly Ann Alexander (KAFTV) was particularly unforgettable. Miss Alexander is an absolutely amazing person who brings an unbelievable amount of passion and support to everyone she meets. Her genuine human connection in an otherwise very business-like industry was inspiring and refreshing. The second experience was absolutely surreal. I absolutely love animals. Having had dogs, cats, and being a fanatical horseback rider, my life has always included animals. At one point, I was selected to do a shoot with horses for a themed session. It was wintertime in Sweden, outdoors, with beautiful horses and a foal. The whole scenery was right out of a fairytale. That day will be remembered forever. By the end of the day, my hands and feet were numb from the cold, and it took me ages to get warm again, but it was more than worth it. I could have spent many more hours there because of the amazing connection with the horses. The photographer told me that it looked like I forgot there was a camera, which made the pictures even better. These two experiences stand out for their unique blend of professional and personal fulfillment, making them unforgettable.
What are we wearing as we enter 2025?
January 2025
Is Baggy in or out??
As the pandemic left everyone wearing comfy & baggy clothes, baggier clothing including sportswear such as joggers, parachute pants and hoodies became fashionable.

However, this being almost 5 years ago, we as a society are going out more and clothing has reached it's 'maximum bagginess' (since there is only so big you can go before the sizing changes).

We can also see this as runways such as Prada and Louis Vuitton are coming out with more tailoring and fitted items.

2025
With Lacoste Spring/Summer 2025 collection, we see 1920s inspired looks along with the 'feminine polo shirt'.
This shirt is important for us when looking at trends as it is almost introducing to us a traditional masculine garment, created into a feminine shape.

This again, links back to the idea that tailoring and fitted clothing is becoming more trendy than baggy clothing.
